A little video trick AND treat!
Oct 31, 2022🙊 Time To Get Wordy
If you’re long-winded, verbose, or a rambler (like I am), you’re going to LOVE this new feature.
TLDR: TikTok has expanded its character limit in video captions. Jumping from 150 to a whopping 2200, TikTok wants you to spend more time describing your videos in word form.
Okay, but why?
TikTok was recently awarded the moniker, “New Search Engine of the Whippersnappers” (technical title), and they’re not into sharing. In an effort to overpower Google, it looks like TikTok is upping its SEO game to keep Gen Z searching.
This is great for creators because as TikTok starts cataloging videos based upon text in videos and text in the captions, a longer character limit gives you more ways to describe your videos. It’s time to break out your 2015 Instagram girl hashtag game. #yes #hereforit #lesgo

The internet is making the most out of Halloween, with this SheHulk makeup tutorial clocking 51.6 million views and counting. This creator brewed the perfect viral video spell, combining pop culture with seasonal searches and the always popular transformation video format.
What this means for you: This creator posted her video on October 19th, shortly after the MCU’s season finale, yet still with plenty of time before Halloween. Seasonally appropriate videos do better when you post them slightly in advance. Remember: TikTok is now a search engine; most people aren’t searching for Halloween costume ideas ON Halloween, so cast your video spells accordingly.
