🎵 This is why we can’t have nice things.
Nov 28, 2022🗳 If you can’t vote, you can’t livestream.
As we’re wolfing down the last of the turkey leftovers, here’s something else for you to digest: TikTok has upped its minimum age requirement to live stream from 16 to 18.
Okay, but why? TikTok says that this is in an effort to increase creator and viewer safety, and protect budding creators as they build an online presence.
What this means for you: Regardless of what type of content you create, it’s important to remember that TikTok specifically caters to younger audiences, so create content that can be consumed by all ages.
🎥 What's Trending
Okay, yes, it’s a dance video. But with over 88 million views there’s a lot we can learn from why people are jiving with this choreo.
The creator’s opening image is strong, with him falling down an escalator. We’re not sure what’s going to happen, so we watch. Then, as he begins his choreography, we’re now waiting to see what the girls behind him will do. His caption then adds the final spice of curiosity, “How did she know?”
Be sure to start with a strong, opening image that drives curiosity. Then, what additional ‘beats’ can you add to your video that keep that curiosity going?
Dance on.
