TikTok’s doing what?!
Aug 03, 2023You may see a shift on your feed on TikTok
In a busy few weeks of new feature rollouts, TikTok’s now announcing that a new content option will allow creators to share stories, poems, lyrics and other written content on the platform.
Now when you open the app and go to the camera page you will see photo, video, and text options as ways to connect with your audience. TikTok says this will make the experience more interactive and dynamic, and they’ve added ways to customize your text by adding sounds, tagging a location, enabling comments and allowing Duets.
What does this mean for you? We’re honestly not sure. It feels like TikTok is back to trying to play catch up instead of standing in its uniqueness of being the leading short-form video app. Only a week after launch, Threads active users dropped from over 49 million to less than 23 million. We don’t see this being a feature that people are asking for or wanting, but everyone gets insecure, so we forgive TikTok for trying it. The main takeaway is to stay experimental, but don’t let it keep you from the primary objective.
